Mexico City

Hi again! The internet didn't work properly at our hotel in Guadalajara. We did have a good, critter-free sleep there. We are now at the Mitchells' home above Mexico City. They have an amazing view of the big city, complete with telescope. We had quite an adventurous drive today but I'm too tired to go into detail. Suffice it to say, we saw the "real" Mexico, driving through small villages and farms, off the beaten track (not on purpose.) It was so picturesque and very, very different from anywhere we've been before! We're happy to be here now and have had a wonderful visit with our friends so far. We were privileged to meet a family who was here for youth group tonight. We celebrated a girl's 14th birthday with "tres leche" cake and the kids all played a bunch of games. It was sure nice the kids could run around and have fun out of the van! In the morning we'll go to church with the Mitchells, then off to an Aztec temple where our legs will get a real work-out! Then we'll visit the retreat centre the Mitchells and other missionaries are working on. More details and pictures to come tomorrow. Hasta manana!
